| 3rd -5th September. The District Conference with a difference. Here are a few of the photos and a brief story to go with it. | ||

There was an informal dinner in the evening, with a a fancy dress flavour and a prize for the best hat. |

 Next
day there were optional outings in the morning. Ian and Mary went into
Amsterdam, whilst Gwyn and Graham went on a tour of Volendam and a windmill
village. In Volendam, Gwyn met an old friend just by Ian's yacht! At
least it must have been Ian's with a name like that. |

At the windmill village G & G went into an old wind powered oil-mill. Graham managed to lose Gwyn and there was briefly some mild panic. Then after a snatched drink it was onto the coach to return to the ship. For lunch and the formal part of the proceedings. (See 1240 news for the details!) | |
| Saturday evening there was a formal dinner after which there was dancing and a cabaret. Your worthy President made at least two new friends. | .jpg) |

| Sunday saw us in Hull and more formal sessions before lunch and then embarking on coaches to Harwich to pick up our cars. | ||
President
Ian and Mary and VP Gwyn and Graham went along for the ride. We joined
the MV Funchal at Parkeston Quay Harwich on Friday afternoon and sailed
in the evening to Ijmuiden.
After
the dinner there was an excellent cabaret and later a magnificent
buffet, which was also repeated on Saturday night.
